IAAPI & GTI Business Cooperation & Industry Engagement

Published On: 17 September 2026

IAAPI Chairman Ankur Maheshwary's visit to the 18th GTI China Expo in Guangzhou has led to a significant step forward for India-China cooperation in the amusement industry.

Following discussions between IAAPI and GTI, both sides agreed to accelerate exhibition cooperation and business engagement between the Chinese and Indian amusement industries. The conversation centered on a clear complementary fit: China's strength in amusement equipment technology, R&D and manufacturing, alongside India's fast-growing market — expanding at nearly 15% annually.

Three concrete steps are now in motion:
→ IAAPI will actively mobilize its members to participate in the 2027 GTI Southeast Asia Expo
→ GTI plans to bring around 20 leading Chinese manufacturers to the IAAPI Expo (3-5 March 2027) for industry exchanges and business discussions
→ Ahead of the delegation's visit, both sides will hold an online matchmaking session to connect Chinese and Indian companies by product, technology and business fit — so in-person meetings in India can move straight to substantive discussions

A proposed China-India Amusement Industry Strategic Cooperation Alliance was also discussed, aimed at supporting long-term collaboration in technology, market development, investment and manufacturing.

These remain preliminary agreements, with specific arrangements subject to further confirmation — but they mark a meaningful move toward closer ties between the two industries.
